INTRODUCTION TO SILVER METAL CLAY   #102J-320

Class Fee:  $60   This class is designed to introduce you to the basics of working with silver metal clay.  This clay-like substance is fine silver particles suspended in an organic binder that can be manipulated, molded, stamped, carved, sculpted and formed much like earthen clay.  Silver clay can be fired with a simple kitchen torch or a small kiln to burn out the binder which then leaves your very own original hand-created piece of .999 fine silver jewelry.  In this introduction class you will complete a beautiful pendant and/or several pair of earrings or charms.  Fee includes all materials and use of studio tools.

SILVER METAL CLAY - RINGS    #102J-321

Class fee: $60   

Prerequisite: Intro to Silver Metal Clay

The basic ring technique will be taught in this class. You will be able to complete at least one silver ring in this class.  The ring will be fired in the kiln for extra strength and finished so you can wear it home.  Fee includes silver clay and use of tools in class.

CHAINMAILLE EARRINGS IN 3 DIFFERENT PATTERNS   #102J-327

Class fee:  $38

In this class you will learn how to make earrings, by connecting sterling silver jump rings in specific patterns to create different styles of chainmaille earrings.  You will go home with 3 pair of sterling silver earrings.  Sterling jump rings, beads and findings are included in the class fee.  Tools will be furnished for class use.  See examples in the gallery.

MAKE YOUR OWN BEADED EARRINGS  #102J-484

Class fee:  $24

In this class you will learn you will learn techniques to make bead earrings in your choice of color, shape and sizes of beads with many to choose from.  You will go home with 2 pair of handmade earrings for yourself or to give as a gift.  Beads, wire and findings are included in the class fee.  Tools will be furnished for class use.  See examples in the gallery.

In this class you will learn simple chainmaille, how to connect jump rings in a specific pattern to create a basic chain link bracelet from start to finish.  Sterling silver jump rings and findings are included in the class fee.  Tools will be furnished for class use.  See examples in the gallery.

WIREWORK - WIRE AND BEAD BRACELET  #102J-323

Class fee:  $56 

In this class you will learn simple basic wirework to make a sterling silver wire bracelet decorated with glass beads and you will even make your own handmade sterling clasp.  Wire, beads and findings are included in the class fee.  Tools will be furnished for class use.  See examples online and in the gallery.

BASIC JEWELRY METALSMITHING – 3 METALS PENDANT  #102J-500

Class fee:  $48

In this class you will use simple metalworking techniques to create a stylish brass and copper pendant with silver accents.  You will learn how to saw, file, stamp, drill and rivet to connect your metals without soldering.  Materials are included in class fee.  Tools will be furnished for class use.  See examples online and in the gallery.

BASIC JEWELRY METALSMITHING – TEXTURED SPIRAL  RING  #102J-501

Class fee:  $54

In this class you will use simple metalworking techniques to create a multi-textured wrapped silver ring.  You will explore several techniques to create texture and patterns on fine silver wire then shape and finish the ring into a chunky but easily wearable ring.  Materials are included in class fee and all tools will be furnished for class use.  See examples online and in the gallery.

SOLDERED GLASS KEEPSAKE PENDANTS  #102J-324

Class Fee:   $45

In this class you will create two personalized jewelry pieces that can be worn as a pendants or charms.  Because these have images on both sides you end up with 4 different sides to wear.  These will be personalized by cutting out small illustrations and meaningful words from magazines and sandwiching them between two thin sheets of glass and soldered together.  You will learn basic copper foiling and soldering.  You will also learn a simple bead technique to finish your pieces with a bead dangle if you choose.  All materials will be furnished for this project but feel free to bring a small photo (one inch or less), sketch, special paper or fabric from home if you like.
